The new, refreshed, and refactored Stellarport is coming soon! While we wait, here are the answers to some recurring questions on the Stellarport maintenance.
Why is the refactoring effort required?
This maintenance period and refactoring effort is needed to allow Stellarport to upgrade for the upcoming Stellar protocol 13.
Stellarport is one of the first portal to the Stellar decentralized exchange and it has provided users with innovative services including SDEX asset indexing and discovery. Some of these services required bespoke solutions at the time – our backend had to be tightly coupled with Core and Horizon databases – and are now conflicting with the necessary software upgrade required for Protocol 13.
Stellar is an actively developed blockchain and payment network with a very dynamic team pushing standardization and innovation at fast pace. If we want to follow the pace of change and prevent further issues soon, we need this refactoring task to take place.
Therefore, some services must be disabled while we work on the backend. Apologies for the inconvenience, be assured that we work as fast as possible to return our service back to normal.
When will the maintenance end?
We are aiming at restoring most services by June 19, including full access to the wallet service. However, there may be some services that we will have to enable later this month. We will provide updates and details regarding the progress.
What can I expect from the new wallet and exchange?
The revamping of the UI/UX was always part of the plan from the acquisition. The goal is to provide a friendly service for the widest range of users due to the needed synergy with our parent company activity, Litemint.
Litemint has recently released the first tradable card game on Stellar with Litemint.io – the beta is about to reach 20,000 users. You should try it if you did not already, it is incredibly fun!
Thousands of collectible game items have already been issued to gamers on Litemint.io and will be freely available to trade on the SDEX at release. We want to make sure that our users find a welcoming place on the Stellar ecosystem to trade and exchange these assets – Stellarport is that place.
Stellarport remains true to its roots by being an open exchange for everyone. It continues to provide free open and advanced tools for all traders, remains freely opened to any pair matching and trading. Additionally, we are bringing dedicated tools for traders interested in non-fungible token and collectible trading on the SDEX.
